Hi, when I import an assembly into cadasio from solidworks some of the part names arent right. For instance, I have a part with a file name of 55507 but when I label the part or make a table it is referred to as ‘8-16 tapped hole’ after the hole wizard feature.
Is there a method of changing this?
I also have the ‘import properties’ tab ticked when exporting from solidworks, yet my custom properties for this part still do not seem to carry over?
Hi @EHS4740
That sounds like the name of the body, suggesting it’s a multibody part? When you bring in multibody a part as an assembly (which is an option in the addin) the part names are based on the body name - which in SolidWorks usually takes up the last feature applied (weldments and sheetmetal may be different). So I think what you are seeing is probably correct (though please do say if I have guessed wrong)
You can name bodies in SW I think. Or you can change the name in Cadasio
I would recommend doing that on your first step (& propagating if necessary) to ensure it’s the same throughout your cadasio project
I will try this. Thank you
