I tried to open an assembly from Fusion 360 but it did not open.
I then tried to instead open only a small section of the assembly and it still did not open and got stuck at 60%.

Yes it was still an issue and had to delete the project and forget about it. Maybe it was just too complicated.
We can usually handle pretty complex assemblies, If it is possible to share the assembly so I can try this end I can try to diagnose further. Let me know, and I will send an email with details on how to share.

@tim.claridge I’m experiencing the same issue. I have a paid version of the software and am trying to use it today, but the screen freezes at 60%. I’ve already tried clearing the cache and restarting the browser, but it hasn’t resolved the problem.
Our team put an update out at the weekend which fixed an issue with importing from Fusion, this didn’t occur with all assemblies, only under set circumstances. If anyone experiences issues like this in the future with Fusion, please do not hesitate to let the team know.
