In one of my test projects, when I get to a particular zoom level, the view automatically displays as a section view. This is with section view turned off.

We have never heard of this happening before. Can you share a screenshot of what you are seeing and message me the name of your project to test?
The only thing I can think of is that you are zooming close enough to go through the modal, so the camera is effectively half in and half out of it?
